Like seriously. I’ve been hitting seven-digit scores more frequently these past few days. Is this what they call one’s golden age in Audition? For me it came pretty late, as I’ve been playing here for almost three years. But I guess it’s never too late for something like this. XD

And this screenshot I’m gonna upload just for the record. Really, if this goes on I’m gonna retire sooner. O_O

Audi Bulletin: Taking spam to the next level.

Majority of Audistas are aware that there were free items given away as compensation due to the bugs last patch, one of which includes the free bulletin for a month. Think of it as unlimited bulletin, meaning any player can flood the bulletin across the servers for free.

The management has yet to speak about this issue, but a lot were claiming it’s because of the bulletin that Audition is suffering from messenger problems again. Even if it’s not the reason, not everyone is pleased with the given compensation, especially the bulletin. I for one am distracted every time an unnecessary bulletin pops out, shouting curses, smileys, and even a simple @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ line was being spammed. Abuse, as most would say.

I also tried using the free service once. Guess what, I am spamming as well. >:3

Forum people might relate to this. Bwahahaha!!!

My First 1M!

Well, it’s been almost three years and it was only today that I scored more than 1 million in Audition—twice. True, it comes when you least expect it. To make things even more surprising, I did it with a 150 BPM song. @_@ My second 1M was played with a 130 BPM song. Kewl.

Oh yeah, I’m also lucky because a member from the Audition Seitoukai came to play with us. Thanks Dai-tachi!

Shameless Rant Part 1

Yep, I’ve already decided. Althaea is leaving the forums for good. But that doesn’t mean I won’t lurk at certain threads that are worth looking.

Like this specific thread.

There’s this patch discussion thread I browsed a while ago, and it’s very promising, considering the new stuff that will be added. It’s something you would really save money for, because the items and features added are worth buying.

But then again, some people just don’t know when to stop demanding.

Ano ba yan, wala pa rin yung item na gusto ko! Bat sa kabilang server meron na kayo wala pa rin?!

Okay lang walang new items basta may sale! Ang mamahal naman nyan! [Contradictory to this, when I checked the price list, the cheapest one can buy is as low as 20EP]. It’s even cheaper than other decent internet cafe rentals would offer.

Given the chance that I can reply to such complaints, I would go something like this:

What else do you guys want? This is the Philippine server, not some private server you are leeching on. Face it, we can’t get every single wish we want. Buti nga maraming den items eh. Items can go as low as 20EP, it’s really cheap if you’re gonna ask me. If you guys want decent items without spending much, then go to a private server, let’s see if you’ll enjoy the heck out of it. Be reasonable with your demands, for Christ’s sake.

It’s something I would say out loud, but I’d rather say it here instead there. Not that I’m saying it’s out of cowardice, but I prefer to leave my comments somewhere I can freely express it, without worrying about rules and stuff.

Whew. Glad to have that off my chest. Sorry if I offended a few, but really, it’s being a pain to read such comments without even thinking of what they’re saying. KIDS!

The Thing About Wings.

Disclaimer: The article I’ve written below is purely opinionated and not an actual statement from IP e-Games. But rest assured that I’ve gathered my information from proper sources as I create this blog entry.

Mahigit isang taon naghintay ang buong Audi PH community sa paglabas ng winged sets. Naalala ko pa nung nakaraang taon nung may nabasa akong thread sa forums na nagsusuggest na sana ilagay ang mga nasabing item sa fashion mall — cute nga naman kasing tignan. Ilang buwan ang lumipas at maraming forum thread na nagpapatungkol dito ang lumabas. Kamakailan lang, lumabas ang patch 6035 [aka Season II patch] at for the first time in Audition PH history, ipinakita ang inaasam-asam na winged sets.

Ito po pala itsura ng wings, ito yung unang lumabas mula sa T3, pero later on magkakaroon pa ‘daw’ ng iba pang version sa mga susunod na patches. Abangan na lang ninyo! XD

So ano ang issue dito?

Syempre, maraming Audistas ang excited sa pagdating ng wings that time, ngunit nang lumabas si Season II, nadismaya halos lahat ng malaman nilang exclusive item ang mga ito, at tanging mga GM at official e-Games staff lang ang maaaring magkaroon nito.

Unfair naman ng mga GM! Bakit niyo pinagdadamot mga items nyo? Kami nagbabayad ng pangsweldo sa inyo tapos di niyo ibebenta samin yan? Kalokohan!

Kung di man ito, halos hawig sa sinabi ko sa itaas ang initial reaction ng mga Audistas. Di naman siya maiiwasan dahil sa tinagal-tagal nga namang hinintay ng buong community ang wings, naging exclusive GM item pa. Ngunit, ginawa nga ba ng management ito dahil gusto nilang ipagdamot ang mga nasabing items?

Sa kasamaang palad, walang ibang paraan ang mga GM para makilala ng players dati bukod sa GM prefix at sa World Star rank. Ginawa nilang exclusive tuloy ang wings para maiwasan ang GM impersonation that would later on become a source of scams and hacks sa players. Bukod dito, di naman ata lahat ng wings ay gagawing exclusive sa community. Let’s see sa future patches, who knows baka may mas magandang items pa na tatalbog sa smexy style ng wings nila GM by then.

Ay, oo nga pala, pwede din makakuha ang ordinaryong player na tulad natin ng fakfak. Sali lang sa mga live events ng Audition at minsan pinamimigay nila ang mga items bilang prize sa tournaments at events. Ang susunod na event ay sa darating na Sabado, Domination 3. XDD

X-Play Crew (Missile) Launch

This event became one of the most memorable ones I attended. There had only been two events that I took participation in from start ’till end and this is the latest one. Not only was I given a VIP pass, I was also given a chance to help X-Play as an event marshal. Like, wee~! XD

If memory serves me right, this is also the first time I’ve ever introduced myself to the public as Althaea [first time ko kasi mag-nametag XD]. I didn’t expect there would be people who would know me. Some of them came from Top Speed [kinda got shocked because none of the female characters I met were female iRL haha~!], as most of them thought there’ll be a tournament on that day, which unfortunately didn’t push through.

The event officially started at 10am, but the tournaments began two hours after. Those were the times that things got really busy we didn’t notice the time passing by. I was assigned to O2Jam, and fortunately, the tournament went like a tornado [mabilis na magulo =))]. In fairness, dun ako nakakita ng mga mamaw sa O2, ang alam ko lang kasi Fly Magpie eh, dami pang miss hahaha! After finishing O2Jam, I ate lunch then helped at Audition tournament area. )

There were also special guests during the event [Dice & K9, Beatbox, Gino [the radio DJ], even GMA was there to cover the whole event. Aside from them, the visitors reached more than 1,000! Truly, Audition has become a phenomenon in the casual online gaming community. Just to show you guys how crowded it was, take a look at this one:

The event truly was a big success. I was able to meet a lot of players here again, and though it was a really tiring day, it was all worth it. I had fun.

Detecting On-Off Bots in Audition Ph

The on-off bot in Audition Online has been a myth for the past months. Some speculated them to be a form of perfect hack, only triggered at the late parts of the game. Others said it doesn’t exist at all, and the long chains were just a result of the player’s skills and luck. I for one did not believe its existence at first, until last night.

A fellow staffer of mine named Kasumi [you'll see more of her soon, don't worry] showed me a replay file of her play last night. She was playing at Da Halo with some people, and one of them was having a very suspicious play. Though Kasumi managed to beat him at first, the succeeding plays started to get dirty on the guy’s part.

Here’s an acv file of the play. Ish safe, dun worry.

Anyway, here’s what I noticed about the replay file:

The guy chained at the start, since it’s choreography mode, botting at early levels of play is easy.
Suspecting him of using a perfect hack is useless, since he’s also doing cools, greats and misses during the game.
Notice his movements during levels 6-7. There you can see some pauses while chaining ONLY. When he doesn’t chain, his play goes smoothly without delay.
A botter does not like to lose. Notice him starting to chain when he gets a notch behind by Kasumi.

From my observations, I deducted the guy from that game is using an on-off perfect bot. I consulted an Audition GM if they know if such thing existed, and yes, they are completely aware that it exists today.

I know I haven’t given enough evidence to prove my claims. I may also be wrong in judging that player. But the fact that on-off bots exist in Audition is a big threat for the integrity of the game. I made this for the sake of those who wish to catch botters in-game and serve as a mini-guide for them. Let’s make Audition Ph a better place for everyone to play. Although the game developers and publishers aren’t that updated when it comes to game security, let’s do our part as players too. In a way, catching suspected botters will help them minimize the botting problem today.

Audition Patch 6032 Unleashed!

It wasn’t until late in the evening when I remembered — there’s a new patch coming today! I quickly patched my Audition client, grabbed Alex and logged in-game.

One of the new stuff added to the game itself is the Chance Free mode, wherein you can now select your chance skills level from 1 to 6 [the higher the number, the more red arrows to press]. Although there weren’t any new songs added, the FAM items and replay transfer function kinda compensated the loss. The latter enables the player to save the replay file of another player in his point of view. I have yet to try this because of the game instability being experienced last night. There were also new items added such as the Fam Name Change and Hide Level item.

One downside of the patch, as observed also the previous released patches, are the bugs. I’m already used to this, though, since it is not only experienced by the Ph server, but other Audition servers as well. It’s only a matter of time before they can fix them, and I do hope everyone can understand that this is only natural especially after a patch release.

Last thing I observed are the avatar items. Cool, an avatar set was named after me [well almost XD].
